Term 1 Meeting
Hello all
Welcome back to another year I am sure you are in full flight.
Having returned to the Diocese after nearly 2 years away on secondment I have been flat out catching up with all the changes that have occurred while I have been away. I have also managed to get to a number of schools and am in the process of becoming familiar with your technology journey again.
The ITLC meetings will continue this year, each one hosted at a different school.
The next will be held at Thirroul on Monday the 18th from 2-4pm.
Having put some thought into the agenda I would like the opportunity to update you on (and be updated on)
1. The rollout of Google Apps for Education
2. The collaborative classroom professional learning about to commence
3. The DIgital Citizenship in the DOW - Web Resource, school implementation feedback and sharing of strategies around DC
4. iPad rollouts, sharing around the progression of the various iPad rollouts.
5. App share - Sharing an app that has worked well in your school
6. General Discussion.
I would love to hear about other agenda items that you might suggest. Please send them through and I will update the agenda at http://itlcdow.blogspot.com.au
Regards
Mark

Digital Citizenship Course
The Stage 2-3 Digital Citizenship Course was presented to the iTLC group yesterday.
This is an online course which is hosted within a Google site.
This course focused on these five domains of Digital Citizenship
This course is designed to:
- create student's awareness of cyber related issues and the importance of developing and maintain healthy on-line behaviours
- equip students with strategies that will enable them to engage safely in online environments.
DCC iBook
An iBook has been developed as an introduction to the Digital Citizenship Course. This offers those schools who have 1:1 access to iPads the opportunity to engage with the course contents on their iPads. The course also includes activities and tasks that the students are to work through whilst utilising the iPad apps to demonstrate their understandings of the five domains.
We have developed a Stage 2-3 iBook

1:1 IPADS SUPPORT FOR SCHOOLS
Some schools are currently in the process of considering 1:1 deployment of mobile devices in our Primary schools. We have compiled a keynote presentation for schools to share with parents on Parent Information nights/meetings etc which will provide essential information in relation to a range of considerations in the use of mobile devices in schools.
We recommend that the presentation be modified to meets the needs and context of your individual schools, and to be used as a guide.
