1:1 Environments

St. Joseph's Bulli's Journey

“At St Joseph's Bulli, we have clear objectives with our iPad use and a strong view to improving student learning. In order to help us integrate iPads effectively, we have our own list of apps, focused on learning goals consistent with the Diocesan Learning and Teaching Framework. This list is driven by specific learning goals that promote critical-thinking, creativity, collaboration, and the creation of student-centred learning environments.
Since the introduction of 1:1 iPads in Year 5 at St Joseph's Bulli and we have witnessed students taking greater responsibility for their learning. Students have adopted a more personalized approach to how they present their thinking and how they go about meeting specific learning criteria. We have witnessed students putting action and commitment to the Habits of Mind and ultimately becoming more independent and interdependent. Most importantly, we are witnessing students becoming more actively involved in their learning.”

1:1 iPads Support for Schools

Some schools are currently in the process of considering 1:1 deployment of mobile devices in our Primary schools. We have compiled a keynote presentation for schools to share with parents on Parent Information nights/meetings etc which will provide essential information in relation to a range of considerations in the use of mobile devices in schools.
We recommend that the presentation be modified to meets the needs and context of your individual schools, and to be used as a guide.
